The University of Thessaly AtoM platform is a web archival description application that is based on International Council on Archives (ICA) standards. The platform provides an interface for searching the collections of the University of Thessaly Historical Archive providing archival descriptions at various levels (archive, sub-archive, series, subseries, folder, subfolder and item). When digitized items are available, they are accessible directly from the description (when digital items are freely available this is done under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license [CC BY-NC-SA 4.0]).
Access is provided according to the category of each user, while the present platform is mainly addressed to Library and Information Center staff members. All other users are encouraged to use the Historical Archive's (AtoM-integrated) VuFind platform, which provides the ability to search all archival records uploaded to the AtoM platform and display all corresponding metadata, while providing links to all digital records of archival collections freely available to anyone interested. Full documentation of the platform integration is provided in the open access paper titled: Managing digital archival collections by integrating Archivematica, AtoM and VuFind software: the University of Thessaly Historical Archive case.

The platform was developed within the framework of the project entitled THESSALY MEMORY DOCUMENTANTION AND COMMUNICATION [THE.ME.DO.COM.], which was implemented within the framework of the Single Action "RESEARCH - CREATE - INNOVATE" of the Operational Programme COMPETITIVENESS, ENTREPRENEURSHIP INNOVATION (co-financed by Greece and the European Union).
